You may be aware of the recently launched H&R Block radio spot and video, which misrepresents the CPA profession and misleads the public about the expertise, experience, and practice standards of CPA tax practitioners: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJcBK1DCrbo.
NCACPA, in conjunction with the AICPA, has sent a letter to Bill Cobb, H&R Block President and CEO, requesting his organization to remove these promotional spots from H&R Block’s media buy. If you have been following this matter, you are aware that H&R Block not only responded, but vowed to further increase its advertising efforts.
State CPA societies and the AICPA continue to be proactive on behalf of the profession to position CPAs as premier providers of tax services and trusted advisers. Should you be interested in expressing your concern, NCACPA is providing a template for you to use, if desired. Grassroots support in situations like this one have helped the profession achieve results, and CPAs from around the country are joining together to voice their issues with the H&R Block campaign.
