For the fifth consecutive year, North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory signed a proclamation officiating the state’s CPA Day of Service, which will fall on September 23, 2016, this year. The association is very appreciative of the governor’s display of support towards the profession and this service initiative in the state of North Carolina.
CPA Day of Service began with a simple idea proposed by a member, which has grown into an immensely powerful initiative. The association was challenged to plan a day when members could take to their communities and give back in some way. The event would highlight how CPAs are a vital part of both the financial and social fabric of North Carolina communities, and show the public that CPAs are involved community members. From this simple suggestion, the CPA Day of Service was born, and continues to grow.
