NCACPA announced its annual recommendations for appointment to the North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners in a letter to Governor Roy Cooper.
Three current Board members have terms expiring on June 30, 2024. NCACPA supported the reappointment of Jodi K. Kruse, CPA, and Maria M. Lynch, Esq. Board President Gary R. Massey, CPA, is ineligible for reappointment due to term limits.
NCACPA recommended the following highly qualified individuals for Board service:
- Kecia Williams Smith, Ph.D., CPA – Greensboro, NC
- Victoria A. Martin, CPA, CSEP, CGMA, PFS – Conover, NC
- Deetra Watson, CPA, CGMA – Durham, NC
“NCACPA is confident that these individuals will significantly contribute to the Board’s mission of protecting the public interest and promoting excellence within the accounting profession,” said NCACPA Chair Courtney Knoll, Ph.D., CPA. “We are committed to ensuring a strong and diverse Board that represents the breadth of the accounting industry in North Carolina.”
The State Board of CPA Examiners is the occupational licensing board for CPAs, and the Board adopts and enforces the rules of professional ethics and conduct to be observed by CPAs in North Carolina. The Board is comprised of five CPAs and two non-CPAs who represent the interest of the public at large. All are appointed by the Governor and serve three-year terms.
