Description
Writing is a key method of communication for most people, and it’s one that many people struggle with. This workshop will give participants a refresher on basic writing concepts such as spelling, grammar, and punctuation. It will also provide examples of time-saving reports. All of this will provide that extra edge in the workplace.
Objective
* Develop better awareness of common spelling and grammar issues in business writing * Review basic concepts in sentence and paragraph construction * Review tools in Outlook® to assist the writing process * Explore the basic structure of email messages, business letters, and business reports * Evaluate tips and techniques to use when deciding the most appropriate format to use * Practice tips and techniques in writing concisely * Review proofreading techniques to improve proofreading skills.
Highlights
* Everyone can use a refresher in the mechanics of writing well for the business audience * In this workshop participants will have time to review English grammar, sentence composition, and paragraph construction * After the refresher, we will explore common business writing scenarios and tips to make each letter, email, report, proposal, or executive summary a strong, persuasive, concise document to convey messages clearly and succinctly * Finally, collaborative writing tips and proofreading techniques will complete the session providing for a comprehensive writing review

CPE Select Pass Policies
The CPE Select pass is available only for NCACPA members and the price is applicable for an individual user. The pass includes access to on demand and webinar programs, but excludes webcasts, “hot topic” webinars, and on demand Ethics programming. All eligible programs for the CPE Select pass will be marked in the online catalog and in promotions. Licensed CPAs who elect the student membership status must provide proof of enrollment in an advanced degree.
The CPE Select pass grants unlimited access to qualifying webinars and on demand programs on a calendar-year basis.
We anticipate a spike in webinar activity later in the calendar year, and NCACPA is not liable for third-party service outages that may occur. Please plan your CPE before 12/31 to avoid any unforeseen technology issues.
