The History Behind the Change
It all started in 2012 when NCACPA launched CPA Day of Service to provide an opportunity for North Carolina accounting professionals to take a break from their typical office duties and give back to the community through various volunteer efforts.
Fast forward 7 years to when NCACPA celebrated its centennial anniversary and extended CPA Day of Service to span across a 100-day period (August 30, 2019–December 8, 2019). The event was appropriately renamed, 100 Days of Service.
Throughout this period of generosity, accounting professionals and firms from across the state shared their stories with the association. Hearing our members reminisce about their efforts and viewing their captured memories was a gift that encompassed what it means to be part of this incredibly giving profession.
Rather than revert to a single day of volunteering, NCACPA coined Volunteer 365.

Understanding Volunteer 365
NCACPA created Volunteer 365 to encourage members to give back to the community whenever possible—not just on a single day. We encourage firms to participate by motivating staff to take part in volunteer efforts and by helping organize and communicate opportunities.
Members and firms can share their stories with the association and submit photos by completing our Participation Recap form* below.
*Participants will be celebrated on the NCACPA website, may be featured on social media, and in Interim Report

Volunteer 365 FAQs
Who can participate?
Community service opportunities are available to everyone! We encourage individuals, firms, businesses/organizations, schools, etc. to join in. Conversely, internal NCACPA volunteer opportunities (e.g. committee involvement, engaging on Connect, etc.) are exclusive to NCACPA members.
How can I participate?
After volunteering, complete our Participation Recap form to be included on our website and possibly featured on social media and in Interim Report as well.
Will NCACPA coordinate events to participate in?
NCACPA only coordinates volunteer opportunities within our association (which are exclusive to NCACPA members). For community involvement outside NCACPA, we encourage everyone to volunteer at a place of their choosing. If you have activities in mind and would like to share them on this page, please contact Mia Phillips.
Will I receive a t-shirt for participating?
No, NCACPA will not be providing t-shirts; however, we are happy to provide NCACPA’s logo for you to add to your own t-shirt. To receive a copy of the logo, please email Teka Miller.
