NCACPA and NC State University are teaming up again in 2023 to host the Summer Leadership Conference (SLC)!

Not only is SLC an invaluable learning experience, it’s also a great resume booster. Save the dates for the 2023 Summer Leadership Conference:

Do I have to attend the full program? You can register for as few or many sessions as you like; however, full participation is recommended. Each session builds upon the last and those who complete the full program receive a certificate, badge, and chances to win raffle prizes.

How much of each session must I attend to get full credit? Full credit is defined as attending at least ¾ of the session. As each session is a total of 90 minutes, to receive full credit attendees must attend at least 67 of the 90 minutes.

How do I sign up for the full program? Completion of one form is needed for registration and sessions can be selected individually as the form includes all four sessions. This flexibility allows for students who are not interested in the full program to join for the portion that best aligns with their professional journey. If you need to change/update your registration, please contact Holly Bazemore.

What if I can’t attend the session(s) live? We’ve got you covered! Replays will be available for each session, and credit will be applied if all four are viewed by a certain date (2022 date to be announced). Certificate/badge distribution will occur at that time.

Is this event for me? The Summer Leadership Conference is designed for students in community colleges and four-year programs seeking a career in accounting. However, individual sessions or the full program are open to anyone interested.

What did this session cover?

Within the accounting profession, opportunities are endless for what your future can hold. What you may be asking yourself is what does that mean? What skills do I need to be an accountant? What kind of support is available? What is the next step in becoming a CPA? Session one will provide comprehensive information to fuel your future pathway and understanding of accounting. Attendees will hear from industry experts and the only association in North Carolina that is dedicated to the success of NC accounting professionals.

Discover more of the accounting profession as a panel of CPAs and accounting professionals share about their journey and experiences with attendees. This is a prime opportunity to ask questions, discuss various accounting careers, and learn new information directly from professionals.
