The group has been quite active! With endless possibilities, we are moving forward with our goals of having good times, learning a lot, and building some amazing friendships. Find out more about the Steering Committee Meeting and first Book Club Meeting (rated a 5 out of 5 by participants) below!
But first, mark your calendars for what’s up next so you won’t miss the fun, educational, and social opportunities.
Estate Planning—Bad Things Can Happen When You Don’t Have the Right Docs In Place
You can avoid common mistakes by getting the basics right in your estate planning. Who will get my kids and/or pets should something happen to me? How will they know when to discontinue my life support if a decision needs to be made? Who would I want to make financial decisions for me should I became incapacitated? Do my parents have their estates in proper order should something happen to them and I be left to make decisions for them or settle their estate? What are the critical documents needed for estate planning? Once the documents are in order, how often and/or when do I need to update? We’ll have a brief discussion on some of the basics you should work on today. If you understand your assets, your documents, and the basics of estate law, you can avoid common pitfalls and help ensure that your planning accomplishes what it was designed to do. You should leave the meeting feeling empowered to start the conversation with your estate planning attorney to get your planning needs in order.

[Note: February Book Club participants rated the program a 5 out of 5! The goal is 100% participation by attendees at these meetings. We share our thoughts, opinions, and experiences, and leave better informed—with new perspectives to consider and richer friendships. There is no need to purchase or read the book for Book Club meetings. The summary sent the week before the event will be more than sufficient for this exploratory program.]
A big hearty thank-you to the Steering Committee! Another huge thank you to those who participated in the February Book Club meeting! There were seven members in attendance, and all completed program evaluations that averaged a score of 5 out of 5! One of our primary goals is to keep up the high-quality programming to honor your time and commitment to being an active member of this group.
