The association would like to provide information on members whom we have been made aware are running for statewide and congressional offices this election year.
Wesley Casteen, CPA, ABV, CFF, is running for the 7th District US House seat. The 7th District includes all or parts of twelve counties in southeastern North Carolina. Wesley is a practicing attorney and CPA from the Wilmington area. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Wake Forest University and worked as an accountant following graduation. Wesley continued to work while obtaining his law degree from Campbell University, and later his LL.M with a concentration in taxation from the University of Alabama School of Law.
Dale Folwell, CPA, is seeking election as State Treasurer. Dale has spent decades of his career as an investor and financial consultant, and has also served as Assistant Secretary of Commerce, two years as Speaker Pro Tempore of the North Carolina House of Representatives, four terms as Representative to the North Carolina House, and eight years on the WSFC School Board. He is an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Chuck Stuber, CPA, is the Republican candidate for State Auditor. Chuck is a former FBI Special Agent and former Chief Investigator for the North Carolina State Board of Elections. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from NC State University and a JD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Beth Wood, CPA, is seeking re-election as North Carolina State Auditor. Beth has held this position since 2009, and was the first woman elected to that office. She previously worked in the State Auditor’s office for ten years, and prior to state government, worked with Rayovac Corporation, as a CPA with McGladrey & Pullen, and was the CFO for a North Carolina-based furniture company. Beth graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in accounting.
