Each year, the NCACPA Taxation Committee and the Tax Section of the NC Bar Association meet with leaders of the NC Department of Revenue. Last Thursday, our organizations had the opportunity to network over lunch and hear several updates from key representatives within the Department.
We had very congenial conversations with Secretary of Revenue Ronald Penny and the DoR’s new COO/CIO, David Roseberry. Between the positive relationships formed at this meeting, and the progress (particularly with technology), the DoR plans to make in 2019 and beyond, we feel our legislative priorities are in good standing as we head into a new year.
Here you will find questions posed by members of NCACPA and the NC Bar, and the DoR’s responses. Department leaders shared several updates about new initiatives or changes within the Department, and those write-ups will be shared with the NCACPA membership in early January.
I would like to extend a huge thank you to Ray Edwards, Chair of the Department of Revenue Subcommittee within NCACPA’s Taxation Committee, for his role in leading this annual meeting. I would also like to thank members of our Tax Committee who joined us last Thursday.
