It’s official! North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory signed the proclamation document officially proclaiming September 18, 2015 as CPA Day of Service in North Carolina.
This is the fourth consecutive year that a proclamation for this event has been signed by a North Carolina governor. McCrory’s proclamation displays his support of the profession, and further underscores the importance of this service initiative not only to the association and its members, but also to the state of North Carolina.
The advent of the CPA Day of Service initiative was brought on by one member with a powerful idea. The association was challenged to plan a day when members could take to their communities and give back in some way. The event would highlight how CPAs are a vital part of both the financial and social fabric of North Carolina communities, and show the public that CPAs are involved. From this simple suggestion, the CPA Day of Service was born, and continues to grow.
