In 2017, the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA) undertook an important research study to identify opportunities to enhance its professional development and other engagement offerings.
Focused on providing greater value to the membership, the study was comprised of a member-wide survey, focus groups, and one-on-one interviews. The results indicate that members desire a more consolidated purchasing decision when it comes to membership categories, and are highly interested in a bundled CPE “package” option.
A revised membership structure will take effect beginning with the upcoming renewal period. All memberships will be based on the length of CPA licensure, if applicable, by a board of accountancy in North Carolina, in another state, a territory of the US, or the District of Columbia. The association’s bylaws were updated and approved by the board of directors at its January 2018 meeting.
