It is with a heavy heart that we report the passing of Lifetime NCACPA member and board of directors’ member Malcolm “Mac” Harvey Lathan, Jr., who passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2015.
A Senior/Life member of NCACPA, Mac joined the association in 1975 and sat on the NCACPA Board of Directors since 2014.
“Having worked with Mac over the last eight years, I was able to get to know one of the most sincere and authentic individuals I have ever been friends with,” said Cal Christian, CPA, PhD.
“Mac was always interested in how I was doing personally and always made me feel better about myself after our time together. I also watched him have the same interest in his students and the CPA profession. His uplifting presence was always a welcome sight and it will be truly missed.”
Mac is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Lathan; his children, Covey Denton and Cody Lathan; his sister, Elizabeth Carruthers; and his grandchildren, Elijah, Lydia, and Bethany.
