NCACPA’s Charlotte Chapter recently hosted a very successful networking event at the new Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (OMB). The event, combining our third annual new CPA inauguration along with a candidates’ night, drew over 80 attendees.
The nine new CPA’s in attendance, who successfully completed the CPA exam over the last year, were:
- Rebecca Bechtel
- Claire Duren
- Philip Gooding
- Tatsiana Hliatsevich
- Nicole Longa
- Ian Luhrs
- Charlie McGoogan
- Tanya Miller
- John Ross
Joining the new CPA’s was just under a dozen candidates and staff. The candidates included contenders in local, state, and congressional races. All of the candidates were very accessible and willing to share their visions for their respective offices. This made for a very interactive event.
The new OMB site was a great location for our members to network with the new CPA’s and candidates. We had a large private room that overflowed onto a very nice patio, and the weather cooperated perfectly. This also provided our sponsors with the opportunity to mingle with the attendees either indoors or out. We would like to thank the following sponsors who helped make this event such a great success:
- Blair Bohlé & Whitsitt, PLLC
- Cherry Bekaert, LLP
- Daniel Ratliff & Company
- Dominion Payroll Services–NC
- Lesemann & Associates, PLLC, Certified Public Accountants
- McArthur McKeiver & Vaughan, PLLC
- Payroll 1
- Pfeiffer University Accounting & Fraud Investigation Program
- The Siegfried Group, LLP
- UNC–Charlotte, Belk College of Business Department of Accounting
Please remember to show your support to local and state political hopefuls, as well as to our civic privileges, by taking the time to cast your vote in the upcoming election. Early voting runs from October 23–November 1 in Charlotte, for the November 4 election day. See you at the polls!
